Knowing the basics of laser therapy, its clinical application and overcoming the difficulties that may occur during daily use; using therapeutic laser to treat different pathologies; dispelling doubts on treatments carried out, managing and optimising protocols and analysing clinical cases where it was used: these were the requisites in order to obtain the certification after the course “Use of class IV laser in rehabilitation” organised by the Centro de Educación Superior Interferenciales (CESI) in Mexico.
Organised over 14 hours, divided into 7 sessions carried out online and in-person, the training course held by Doctor Deborah Sades – Veterinary Surgeon (MVZ) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and lecturer for ASAveterinary courses – was attended by 28 industry professionals including veterinarians, livestock technicians and students from Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Spain and allowed analysing in-depth specific topics such as the use of MLS® Laser Therapy for orthopaedic, geriatric, neurological and wound issues.
Karla Salazar, ASA’s LATAM Area Manager explains; “The participants were particularly interested in the practical sessions with application of MLS® Laser Therapy to dogs with different phototypes. Indeed, the MLS® devices automatically adjust the intensity of the laser to be emitted and the application times based on this parameter, thus ensuring efficacy and the maximum wellbeing and safety for the animal”.
